Sigma 70 - 300mm F4 - 5.6 DG MACRO lense

Hey hey!
How are you all doing?
Are you preparing your Christmas presents yet?
This year Christmas came very early in my house. I've got my first present already! My best brother in the world got me super duper gift! Gosh, I'm so excited! haha
I've got super amazing lens, which i wanted it for so long. This Sigma lens is very affordable and for the price you pay (around £90), you get amazing quality of pictures. Photography has always been my biggest passion, so for beginning this stuff is amazing. I was looking for zoom lens and seeing prices was the most painful thing in the world.
Until I found Sigma!

The high performance telephoto zoom lens is ideal for digital SLR cameras. This lens has two SLD glass elements in the front lens group and one in the rear lens group It is able to shoot with maximum magnification 1:2 at the focal length of 300 mm. It's the ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range.
It is capable of macro photography with a 1:2 maximum close-up magnification at the 300mm focal length. The minimum focusing distance is 1.5 m/59 inches at all zoom settings. It also has a switch for changeover to macro photography at focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm with a maximum close-up magnification from 1:2.9 to 1:2 and a minimum focusing distance of 95cm (37.4 inches).
Without changing the distance between camera and subject, you can change the shooting magnification

I think the best results you get using tripod, which is essential for this lens. Because of the weight it could get very difficult to keep the camera stable. Below you will see pictures taken with my Canon 600D, as an example to show you, guys, how it works. All pictures is taken from the same distance ( maybe a meter away), using zoom to get the object closer. It gives very good blur for the background once zoomed, making the object to stand out. I can't wait to try it outside, to capture some wildlife pictures. Overall, I am very happy with this lens, as it is only for personal use, it's more than I could ask for. Would highly recommend.

  1. I have this lens! I've never really taken advantage of it though because I don't have a tripod, makes getting the perfect shot very difficult!

    1. I know what you mean Katy, it's very difficult to take photo without tripod as camera gets a bit shaky. But I would recommend you to get buy tripod, it makes your life a lot easier! lol x
